Section: Dressing for the Occasion - Blog
A puppy is not just for Christmas, and likewise a custom tailored suit is not just for your best friend’s wedding. There are more than a few occasions when suiting up is your only option, and casual wear just won’t cut the proverbial mustard. So aside from the nuptials, what other occasions require finely tailored threads?
You might spend hours deliberating over which design to choose for your business cards so why not the same for your suit? Your clothes and how you have presented yourself are the first things a prospective client or associate will notice about you. So give yourself a head start and dress to impress.
Another one of those ‘first impression counts’ situations where your suit speaks volumes long before your mouth kicks into gear. A crisp white shirt and nicely fitting tailored suit tell the interviewer you’re a man that takes pride in his appearance and most likely his work too.
Not the most enjoyable of topics, but it remains to be said that a black or dark suit is a must have for attending funeral services. It may not offer much comfort to the family of the departed, but it’s a mark of respect for the dead.
A business presentation is all about selling an idea, whether that’s to the CEO of a multinational corporation or the small business loans officer at your local bank. A well-dressed man will instill a sense of belief into the minds of his audience; a quality suit may not be half the battle, but it’s certainly a good start.
Unless you’ve been accosted by a reporter while on a jog through the park, there’s no excuse for not wearing a suit in front of the cameras. No matter what kind of media event it is, radio, TV or even the local paper, there will be a camera, and it will take your picture. The camera has a habit of making unflattering clothes look all the more unflattering, so your perfectly fitting suit is the only option.
Getting a table at that upscale eatery can be like finding the golden ticket in a Wonka bar, so make the most of it and don your Sunday best. Most restaurants in this bracket require a dress jacket anyway so wearing your tailored suit makes perfect sense. Besides, sipping a scotch at the bar while waiting for your table is infinitely cooler when done in a suit.
So now that you know just how many occasions you can get to show off your custom made suit, there’s no real excuse for putting off that all important first measuring. Pop into our showroom for a chat or take a look at our range of suits right here.
