Last week we brought you some New Year’s Style Resolutions and in keeping with the new year, new you theme we decided to bring you four simple style upgrades that work in tandem with your resolutions. Now we quite liked the 2015 you, but there’s no harm in making some minor improvements so here are four ways to bring yourself into the New Year in style.
There was a time when finding the right accessories was something that the ladies did before a night out but thankfully those days are numbered. We men have picked our knuckles up off the floor and realized the full might of the accessory, and now there’s no stopping us.
Here at Montagio, we’ve always held to the ethos that less is more, but that hasn’t stopped us from stockpiling a cache of accessories for every day of the week. And if your bank manager should allow it, then think nothing of having a few watches, a half dozen hats, and an endless supply of pocket squares and ties to suit any occasion. You might only have two suits in your wardrobe but with the right accessories, the possibilities are endless.
A man’s refusal to admit defeat is admirable in many situations but squeezing into a too-small pair of jeans from three years ago is definitely not one of them. Concede that you’ve gained a few pounds, move on and you’ll find yourself in a much happier place. A place where clothes are comfortable and bending over can be done without fear of pulled stitches.
Finding a good tailor is essential not only for those of you that are sartorially inclined but also for everyday repairs of your casual clothes. Whether you want your jeans tapered or a suit brought in a little for a slimmer fit, being on good terms with a man that knows his way around a sewing machine is a must.
For years, we were warned of the dangers of resembling overgrown schoolboys with our lunch in our backpacks. But since last year, there has been a definite changing of the holdall guard with the backpack rising to prominence once more.
You may laugh and say that you already have one of these most stylish of bags but do you have a Valas Rockefeller Backpack? If so, then move along to the next upgrade, but if not then it’s time to dip into the savings and invest in a seriously luxurious and extremely stylish toting gear.
If we were a cd player, we’d be checking if the repeat button is jammed as we seem to return to the tried and trusted style tips time and time again. And on this occasion, it’s the suit jacket that you may or may not know has more than one use. Sure, it’s made to be worn with those finely tailored trousers but who says it can’t be worn with jeans or chinos?
Yes, it’s an oldie but sometimes the old tips are the best and rocking your suit jacket with a t-shirt and jeans is a look that is timeless and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
And we promise that’s the last mention of the New Year you’ll hear from us until 2017. Once again, if you have any questions regarding our tips and upgrades, please call into the showroom for a chat or better still stay and have yourself fitted out for a custom made upgrade courtesy of Montagio.
